NodThera Inc. Changes Name to Rezera Inc. and Announces Ruvonoflast Phase 3 Development Program

Rezera plans to advance ruvonoflast into a Phase 3 clinical trial in peripheral artery disease (PAD) in H1 of 2027 

BOSTON, Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NodThera Inc. (the “Company”), a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing a portfolio of internally-invented and wholly-owned oral inhibitors of NLRP3 to address inflammatory drivers of cardiovascular and neurologic diseases, today announced that it is changing its name to Rezera Inc., effective immediately. The Company also announced that it plans to initiate Phase 3 development of ruvonoflast, its lead NLRP3 inhibitor, in peripheral artery disease (PAD) as its lead cardiovascular indication. These announcements mark important milestones in the Company’s progress toward establishing the first approval for ruvonoflast in cardiovascular disease.

Rezera has evolved from a leader in NLRP3 science into a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on translating innate immunology science into therapies that can safely and robustly reduce central and peripheral inflammation in cardiovascular and neurologic diseases. In preparation for initiating registrational studies, obtaining regulatory approval, and commercial launch, the Company recently strengthened its management team with appointments of Geoff McDonough, M.D., as Chief Executive Officer, Chris Guiffre, J.D., M.B.A., as Chief Financial Officer, and Jyothis George, MBBS, Ph.D., as Chief Medical Officer.

Today, Rezera will announce topline results from the Phase 2 RESOLVE-1 clinical trial of ruvonoflast, which enrolled 176 participants with and without type 2 diabetes. The RESOLVE-1 results, together with previously published data in participants with elevated cardiovascular risk and high inflammatory burden1, and data in participants with neuroinflammation2, make up a clinical dataset comprising more than 400 participants enrolled across five ruvonoflast clinical trials. Rezera has gained regulatory alignment on the core elements of the Phase 3 trial for ruvonoflast, providing a strong foundation for advancing the therapy to a registrational study in PAD in the first half of 2027.

About Peripheral Artery Disease

PAD is a common, serious form of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs, most often the legs, significantly reducing quality of life, walking performance and functional status as the disease progresses. In early stages of PAD, patients have an approximately two-fold increased risk of cardiovascular death, rising to approximately four-fold in later-stage disease.
